.Me, myself and I.
Hello there, my name's Marta but lately I go better with Mar.:)
I'm 30 and I went from classical studies in high school to being a graduated Fashion Designer of Politecnico di Milano, where I was really-really-really busy studying and learning how to sew properly, make clothes and fashion objects, jewels and stuff. I spent almost four years in a bright yellow building in Bovisa campus, from september 2006 to february 2010. After that, I finished my career with a thesis focused on Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli and the fine art of bijouxs.
Then I spent one year and a half in a municipal school, Mohole, here in Milan to improve my skills in tradional, fashion and still-life photography. I worked in a professional studio and on set with an actual still life/fashion photographer and learned a bunch of interesting notions about this world, like how to handle a professional camera and manage lights and flash, backdrops, frames and colours in my shoots. Those years were like the time of my life.
So here we are, years later, that sense of fashion and creative thrill still laying somewhere under my skin and a lack of occupation bothering me, I finally had the chanche of creating something mine, to own a little place all for myself that I could fill with fabric, laces, beads and a bunch of other stuff and materials. And a sewing machine, of course. So, in about one year, me and my family put together the Lab. A three-roomed warm, coloured, nice place with everything I needed to found my own mark, "L'Occhio di Peggy (Peggy's eye)".
I named it after a small object bought in Venice with my family, at the Guggenheim Museum Fundation and named itself after the precious, smart woman that Peggy Guggenheim has been. "Peggy's Eye" is just a little, round, kaleidoscopic lens that multiplies everything you look at through it. One and more, so that's my idea: a place where I could explore, step by step, every side of fashion and creating, from small fabric purses and cases to actual clothes.

Everything here is handmade with love and care and most of my items are one pieces.
